HCAF Auxiliary |
|
|
For more than 30 years, the Hill Country Arts
Foundation (HCAF) Auxiliary has been the “heart
and hands” of the HCAF. The President of the
Auxiliary serves a one-year term on the Board of
Directors.
Organized in 1971, the Auxiliary has assisted by
raising funds and by performing services
starting with the purchase and painting of the
chairs for the original theatre. |
|
An annual Christmas Bazaar has been held since
1974. The Bazaar is a Hill Country tradition and
members work all year long creating original,
hand-made items. The raffle quilt, hand quilted
by the Auxiliary quilters, is raffled the day of
the Bazaar. The raffle ticket sales and the
Bazaar sales are a major Auxiliary fundraiser.
The first bazaar made only $700, but today the
Auxiliary presents a handsome check to the
Foundation for capital projects.
The Auxiliary operates a Gift Shop with many
unusual handcrafted items. The operating hours
complement the HCAF’s many activities. In
addition, the Auxiliary serves the Foundation by
hosting receptions for Foundation functions and
by providing funds for purchasing equipment,
landscaping and for special requests. |

Members of the Auxiliary meet every
Thursday in the Country Kitchen at 10
a.m. Everyone is welcome.
It is not necessary to be a painter,
quilter, seamstress or crafter, although
many of our members have those talents.
We also need people to stuff envelopes
and keep us organized. Come join us and
make friends for life.
